The Supermoto World Championship arrives on the beautiful Italian island to play the third round in a weekend made even hotter by the exploits of David Gozzini, thanks to a perfect race, who has inflamed the hearts of many fans arrived to cheer their favorite Brescia rider.

The second place in time practices, two first and a second place in the heats, the Grand Prix victory and the World Championship leadership are the numbers of Davide “Gozzo” Gozzini and his TM SMX 450Fi in this third round of the championship.

Unfortunate his teammate Thomas Chareyre that in the first heat had to stop in the last lap for a little electrical problem while he was leading. Thomas, who had conquered Pole and Superpole, finished fourth in the GP and lost the red plate in favor of Gozzini, although only five points.

Good race for Alex Serafini registering a great time in practices in front of the Belgian former world champion Gerard Delepine, and wins good points for the world rankings after recovering in the three heats scheduled always from the back.

RACE 1: Thomas Chareyre is the fastest on this start while Davide Gozzini was third and slowed by Hermunen. Thomas flies away and seems to be invincible while Davide, after passing the Husqvarna’s Finnish, try to reduce the gap that separates him from his teammate. On the last lap Thomas’s bike switch off leaving the way open for Gozzini who wins on Van Den Bosch and Hermunen, fifteenth Alex Serafini.

RACE 2: VDB take the holeshot followed by Gozzini while Thomas is forced to start from the last row as required by regulation. VDB try to excape with his Aprilia but Gozzo and his TM seems to be faster overtaking him at the sixth lap. Gozzini wins on VDB, third Thomas Chareyre after an incredible comeback, seventeenth Alex Serafini.

RACE 3: Holeshot again for VDB who is exceeded first by Thomas Chareyre, who will win, and then by Davide Gozzini who will finish in second place ahead of the Aprilia’s French. Another good race for Alex Serafini who finishes in fourteenth place.

Davide Gozzini, said after the race: “…… It was been a perfect weekend and I’m very pleased about my result and the work of the team. I want to dedicate my victory to my Team, my fans but especially to Mr. Gastone Serafini (TM’s owner) who today celebrated his fiftieth birthday. What a better present than a victory ? ……”

’10 Enduro World Championship – Rnd 6: 28/29.8.2010

Electraction TM team rider Josh Green has claimed his first ever Enduro World Championship victory, topping the competitive Enduro Junior class on the second day of the GP of Greece. Returning to the EWC competition having spent little time on a bike prior to the event as a result of a knee injury picked up at the fourth round of the series in Poland, Josh made a steady start to day one but ended the event in the best possible way, by claiming his maiden EWC victory.

The opening day’s competition was for many the hardest of the series so far. With temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celsius the dry, dusty terrain quickly became rough and rutted. For Josh the Friday night Super Test didn’t go as planned as a small mistake resulted in him placing 18th in class. During the opening lap on day one Josh set about re-familiarising himself with the demands of world championship competition. Steadily improving his pace throughout the second and third laps Josh ended the day as one of the fastest riders in the EJ class but due to his opening lap performances could only manage fifth in the overall results, just 52 seconds behind class winner Lorenzo Santolino from Spain.

Day two proved to be very different for Josh. Fourth fastest around the opening extreme test he then topped the second extreme test to take an early class lead. Remaining both consistent and fast, and dealing well with the constant pressure piled on him by regular EJ class front-runners Jeremy Jolly and Lorenzo Santolino during the middle of the day, Josh remained out front. With a few mistakes creeping into his riding during the third and final lap Josh nevertheless managed to maintain his lead eventually claiming a well-deserved win, three seconds ahead of eventual runner-up Antti Hellsten from Finland.

Josh provisionally sits in sixth position in the Enduro Junior World Championship standings. Round seven of the EWC series takes place next weekend in Turkey.

Josh Green: ‘I’m really pleased that I’ve claimed my first world championship win. To be honest that was my goal before the start of the race, or to at least get on the podium. I’ve had some good speed during some of the earlier rounds of the series but now I know I have to start turning that into results. The event didn’t start too well as I had a spin on the Friday night test, which cost me a little bit of time. I then made a slow start to the first full day. I finished strong but the time I lost on the first lap really cost me and I finished fifth. I took a look at the tests at the end of the first day and worked on some better lines and then just started as strong as I could on day two. I was running up front right from the start of the day and although I made a few mistakes towards the end of the day I kept it together. I’m going to keep pushing hard now and see if I can get a few more wins before the end of the series.’

August 12, 2010:

The first and second weekend of August was quite an action packed racing extravaganza. WORCS week was held up in Olympia, WA for round 7-8 of the 2010 WORCS series and TM racer Wiley Watson shined under the gloomy weather on his TM 144. The event was a back to back weekend format and an opportunity to boost rankings in the series point standings if taken advantage of. Both courses over the weekends were laid out in the tight and twisty trees of the Washington forest, providing a very slim amount of traction and plenty of drama.

The First weekend of racing was a hare-scrambles format, with a longer 15-minute loop and a dead engine start. On the Saturday 250f A race, Wiley got off to a good start and put the TM 144 up front on the first lap and never looked back, securing a 30 second victory margin at the end of the event. The Sunday morning Open Sport A race was a bit tougher on the TM rider. After struggling to make moves on the riders in front of him, he made a couple mistakes and had to charge back through the pack, but ultimately the 144 knifed its way through the field and managed another season best 2nd in the class.

The second weekend of racing was quite eventful. After moving to 3rd in the 250F A points and riding a wave of serious momentum, an unexpected vine (literally vine!) wrapped around the 144’s radiator and ripped the whole top piece off, sending an explosion of boiling fluid out onto Wiley! This was a major bummer as he was running second and was looking to take the lead and move up even further in the point standings.

Watson Performance did some serious and devoted race prep to get the bike ready for the afternoon 125 A race, which turned out to be a “mud fest.” Rain had started to downpour and the already slippery course turned into an ice ring. The crew got the bike to the line and Wiley got off to a great jump and made the pass for the lead just exiting the moto track. He an the 144 checked out and put in a mistake free and awesome race to ride to victory, which was a margin of 4 minutes over his closest competitors!!

The back to back weekends went well for Watson Performance and the Barker Bro’s mounted TM machine, as they look to gain confidence and head into the fall season here of racing!

GP Loket has just concluded and Martin Michek, satisfied about the good result achieved in the home GP, moved immediately to Kaplice to attend the fifth round of the Czech Motocross.

Martin, certainly the fastest Czech rider in the open class, could dominated this round if a fall in the second heat had not forced him into a difficult recovery.

In first heat Michek win with good gap on Zerava and Bartos who conclude in the order and earning major points on Cepelak who closed sixth.

In heat two Michek fell down on the start and he is forced into a grueling recovery that bring him up to sixty place behind Zerava and Cepelak while the victory goes to the Austrian Valkner who precede Bartos and Frenchman Leonce.

This double result allows Martin Michek to bring his Factory TM MX 450Fi on the third step of the podium at the fifth national event.

Michal Kadlecek, also him on a TM bike, finished eleventh in heat one while he was forced to stop in the second one.

The twelfth round of the Motocross World Championship was held on a ground made heavy by rain fall during the days before the GP. Sunday a hot sun has improved the conditions of the circuit as well as it has warmed the hearts of many fans who came from across the country to cheer their favorite rider Martin Michek, who has not disappointed them.

The fourteenth time in time practices, after being long time in the top ten, is a proof of the determination that Martin is able to show when he is competing at home.

In the two races scheduled for Sunday Michek managed to gain important points and scored his best result since participating in the Motocross World Championship.

In Race 1 Martin was unable to start the head group managed to come back to the thirteenth position, scoring good lap times.
In Race 2 Michek is faster in the start and was able to insert his TM MX 250Fi around tenth position. He attacks immediately and earns two more position but a mistake let him go back in eleventh position until he gave up to Kullas and Lupino in the last part of the race finishing thirteenth again.
