Bad crash for Martin Michek in the first heat

By

Awaiting the GP in Lommel Martin Michek took part in the fourth round of the Czech Motocross Championship in the open class with his TM MX 450Fi.

Even Michal Kadlecek, engaged for the enduro world series, took advantage of the long summer break to participate in this round with his TM MX 300 2 stroke, and has proved an excellent training in preparation for the final rounds of the enduro world championship.

The rain felt for all the weekend has made the track very heavy and required the help of bulldozers to clean the track and allow the normal running of the race.

Just from time practices on Saturday Michek had proved his supremacy by winning the pole position with more than three seconds ahead of defending champion Cepelak, third place for Kadlecek.

In the first heat scheduled on Sunday Michek won the holeshot and he was going to win again when at mid race he crashed heavily. Martin has faced a big jump up in speed but during the landing he moved too much on the left side of the track ending in a aerea where the ground was too soft. The front wheel in the impact of his TM is practically sunk into the ground catapulting forward the unfortunate Michek that went down with the bike on the back. Fortunately it all worked out with a great fear for the TM rider but he had to withdraw to the box. The victory goes to Cepelak, fifth Michal Kadlecek who comeback after a fall.

Another story in the second heat. Michek starts again in good position, takes the lead and did not give up until the checkered flag in front of Zerava and  Cepelak,  sixth place for Kadlecek.
