Triplet by Thomas Chareyre in German GP

By

After over two months pause restarts the S1 Supermoto World Championship from the German circuit in Sankt Wendel.

TM riders Davide Gozzini and Thomas Chareyre, protagonists in the Italian GP which opened the season of this specialty, in this second round have dominated the scene leaving only some scrubs to their opponents.

The man of the day was been Thomas Chareyre who has won everything that was possible to win. Superpole and three victories in the three heats scheduled with abysmal gaps allowing Thomas to win the race with perfect score and snatch the red plate of championship leader to his compatriot Thierry Van Den Bosch to be affixed on his TM SMX 450Fi.

Thomas said after the race: “… .. Today was a fantastic day! In the first heat I had to recover and I struggled to overcome some riders ahead of me but after that I thought only about winning. In the second and third heats was easier because I almost took the lead immediately and could ride without any problems. I dedicate this my first GP win to the Team for their excellent work …. “.

Thomas Chareyre

For Davide Gozzini the race was a bit more complicated. The strong rider from Brescia was penalized at the start of each of three heats and was forced to recovery in a track where overtaking was not easy. In the first heat he failed to get rid of his rivals and close in third place, winning the provisional leadership of the championship. In heat two Davide recovers up to fifth place while in heat three it happens everything just when Gozzo was launching his attack on the podium. Gozzini at mid-race overtakes Adrien Chareyre, who was visibly slowing down, which forced him out in the next corner causing him to fall. Davide starts again and in a couple of laps he is back behind the leading group when Van Den Bosch and Hermunen fall down in front of him forcing him to stop and lose important positions. Finished eighth Davide managed to keep the second place in the world ranking.

Davide said after the race: “….. Today I could not take advantage from my good starting position that in a track like this was very important! Also in the third heat Adrien Chareyre let me fall when I had already passed him ! Then I found the track blocked by the motorcycles of VDB and Hermunen because they fall together and I had to stop wasting more time and positions. It could be better but I’m not complaining about the race and I keep focused on my main goal ……. “.

Alex Seafini

Championship points for Alex Serafini forced to recover from slow starts. The Pesaro rider ends nineteenth and twentieth in the first and second heats while the third one near the points zone.
